Welcome
If you’ve found yourself here you are likely searching for something - change, understanding, meaning, healing….
A few years ago I was desperately searching for those things too.
I was in my mid 40’s and things were not going so well. On the surface my life looked rosy but the reality was that my body and mind were suffering terribly. Sleep was elusive at best, my body ached constantly and my digestion was poor.
I was exhausted, anxious and very sad and despite the fact that I was engaged in lots of traditional talk therapy and excellent self care practices, no relief was on the horizon as far as I could see.
By training I have a PhD in social psychology. So, as any well trained academic will do, I tried to think my way out of this state. Over and over and then over and over again. Failure!
As I tried to think my way out of misery, a sense persisted - that traumatic things were somehow “stuck” in my body and mind and that until I could effectively meet these things, I would continue to suffer.
My sense was accurate.
Once I found a therapist who was able to offer me a body based approach to healing, that which plagued me started to lift.
But there were also ingredients to her approach that I did not know I would need and these elements have been critical to my transformation -
Relationship - we are harmed in relationship and we heal in relationship. Being in a trusted secure relationship with a facilitator who is able to stay regulated and present no matter what comes up during a session allows for new depths of healing to be reached.
Medicines - ingesting medicines (e.g., psychedelics) in a safe, controlled setting with the intention of meeting and healing the wounds that life presents. These medicines have allowed me to identify, explore and then make sense of experiences that I am convinced I would have never been able to access had I continued traditional talk therapies for decades.
Fast forward to now…..Lots (and lots!) of work and intensive training in the facilitation of these practices, I am now working with people interested in this approach.
If pieces of my story resonate with you, I invite you to reach out.
We can talk and explore if we are a good fit for each other and decide if this kind of approach might be for you.
